Halfrauds Offer28 Jun 2009 14:36 GMT2
I have just been to the local Halfrauds for 5 litres of 15/40. They have an
offer/freebie on, 5 litres of oil you get a free set of 8 screwdrivers from
the professional range allegedly worth £20. I have generally found their Pro
range decent enough.
A funny thing happened...25 Jun 2009 15:26 GMT19
Yesterday I stopped off at Tesco, to get a couple of bits and bobs, on the
way home.   Parked the bike (Trident 900) on its side stand, on a slight
slope, so that it was leaning *slightly* more than usual.  Returned to the
bike about 10 mins later, and when I hit the start button, ...
This coke in the tank thing...23 Jun 2009 20:09 GMT7
How long should I leave it?
And would dropping in a couple of Mentos help?
I'm very annoyed that I managed to damage the tank transporting it to
the coke :-(

Possibly a stupid question20 Jun 2009 17:25 GMT8
Finally getting around to fixing the flat rear on the SOBoxer.
Booked it into National Tyres tomorrow morning, as it's the most
convenient way of getting it done.
Is taking the rear wheel off really as simple as undoing the 4 bolts and
Tank and tap cleaning20 Jun 2009 09:02 GMT33
The tank on the R65 is full of crap. I don't think the tank itself is
rotten, just the filler cap which seems to have turned to rust.
What's the best way to flush it out?
And anyone know if BMW fuel taps are dismantleable/ rebuildable or

Sold the MZ, sold the scooter and (to my immense surprise) won this with
a speculative bid.

Only halfway into the auction, and I'm gobsmacked. I've been asked for
genuine 400 Four horns before, and so expected it to make a few quid
(hence the 99p start), but now I'm thinking it might go as high as
Chromers recommendation req.15 Jun 2009 16:25 GMT3
Well I've just picked up my CB72 parts from Marque Restore in Coventry.
I've been unable to get them on the phone for the past two weeks and
half expected them to be closed down. However it turns out they couldn't
be arsed to pick up the phone and the parts that they had that ...
God give me strength... K1100 MOT13 Jun 2009 17:37 GMT13
So, am off for a few days shortly and for one reason and another only
got around to the MOT on the last possible day before I go.  Well there
was always today but my MOT tester of choice doesn't really work on
Saturdays.
boots with kickstart plate12 Jun 2009 22:51 GMT14
Sometime ago I stupidly threw out my really old leather boots that had a
plate under the right foot which really helps when kickstarting SOBBs.
Does anyone know of any kind of modern equivalent boot? My right foot is
a bit hurty after trying to start one in trainers.
Little Laverda10 Jun 2009 20:17 GMT11
This Laverda has been sitting unloved in my garage for 10 years or more
and, at last, I've decided I ought to do something about it ... but
what?  Sell it?  Tart it up and sell it?  Do it up properly and ride it?
"Wot's it wurf?" is probably a key factor in making the decision.

FOAK - 400 four engine rebuild02 Jun 2009 21:07 GMT2
My brother has asked me to rebuild his 400/4 engine for him.
While I'm pretty adept at rebuilding SOB engines (e.g. Z1000, GS1000)
I've never done a 400/4 honda. Any specific nasties to watch out for ?.
and yes I will have a manual and I'll even read it.
