| Oooops! | 30 Jun 2006 22:51 GMT | 22 |
I appear to have just bought one of the 200cc Chinese off-road bike things. <note to self: ebay is to be avoided after a night out on the IPA> Further reports to follow.

| Sensible MOT tester | 30 Jun 2006 22:24 GMT | 3 |
Failed the CBX on no rear lights, but gave me "five minutes, and no more" to prove they worked, before filling out the fail cert. Seat off, one twisted wire, ashort length of gaffa tape, and I had a shiny new MOT cert in my hand.

| Need advice re old tyres | 30 Jun 2006 20:35 GMT | 19 |
I'm picking up a sportsbike from a dealer tomorrow that's been sat in an indoor private collection for six years, is barely run in, and still has the original tyres. The dealer reckons they're going to be ok, but I'm concerned they might have hardened and loose traction easier.

| Unfocused bike-related rambling | 30 Jun 2006 19:38 GMT | 72 |
Right, thanks to herculean efforts from Eddie, my bike is back on the road. Most of it is held together with cable-ties and it now comes in more colours than Joseph's f.cking coat, but it goes, stops and turns. Better still, I've got clearance from The Boss to buy myself a new bike ...

| Recent *plonk*ings | 30 Jun 2006 19:24 GMT | 102 |
I just don't get it. People think a new name may be Robbo so *plonk*? Another post may or may not be someone else, so *plonk*. Esp when there are much more serious contenders for *plonk*ing.

| 103.5dB(A) at 7k RPM | 30 Jun 2006 18:01 GMT | 17 |
That's a bit better than the previous 117dB(A) at tickover. All I've got to do know is strip the tailpipes down again & replace the temporary lockwire with weld, then get the PCIII re-mapped. Making baffles is such good fun.

Mant thanks to a certain Wingeing Courier of this parish for a most enlightening rideout yesterday. a) My curiosity of life with a "full on" sprotsbike has now been satisfied. Whilst the R1 is undoubtedly a glorious machine, it is not for me. Having
