Paging K1100 owners...31 Jul 2007 14:17 GMT8
I had a small problem with my electric screen going 'click'.  On
inspection the cables had come close to siezing and the motor that
drives them had jumped a tooth or so.
To pre-empt this I'd suggest you take the electric screen assembly off
Anyone from Northern Ireland? Underground railway31 Jul 2007 14:17 GMT4
I'm hoping to win a new pair of cans for the Duke on Fleabay. Only
they're in Newtonards, NI. Anyone near there who comes over the water
regularly, and who could do an underground railway?
iPod controllers and car stereos31 Jul 2007 14:14 GMT17
So I'm looking for a new car stereo to go with a new car. It would make
sense to have integrated iPod control. Must have steering wheel remote,
but I've heard some horror stories regarding control interfaces.
Anyone use one and have recommendations?
Today I had my knee down in the rain.31 Jul 2007 13:07 GMT26
And yes...I was absolutely sh.tting myself.
Not because I was on a close mate's ZX10R[1], not because I was going
round Gerards at Mallory, not because I was doing about 95mph at the
time...but because I was out there on slicks. I had gone in harder

...f.cking DVLA online car tax system.
'Sorry, that service is unavailable due to essential maintenance'
This was after I'd labouriously entered the Reference number (only the
second time a reminder has actually had one), and clicked and waited
Is there a sig. number for having one's bike driven into by a 4x4?31 Jul 2007 11:52 GMT11
Cos if there is, I want one.  Some daft bint reversed her Suzuki Grand
Vitara into my PARKED Suzuki 1000 this afternoon and knocked it onto
it's side.  This seems to be something I hear often in here.  Thanks
to the crash bungs (on frame and forks) there was very little

Is how long I was back on my side of the road after an overtake before
the cage coming the other way passed me and I *still* got flashed at.
MOT31 Jul 2007 09:49 GMT8
Taking the bike in for MOT this morning.  As this is my first visit to a
testing station for about 10 years I take it I still only need to take the
bike and a wad of cash. I was just wondering if I need to take any
documentation. I will be leaving home before they open so can't ...
MOT, tax, ANPR cameras.31 Jul 2007 09:23 GMT1
What's the situation with these new-fangled computerized MOTs?
One of the cars was without a valid MOT for 6 months and I must have
passed a few automatic number plate recognition cameras but nothing
happened. The previous MOT was one of the last of the old-style ones,
4x4 damage.  Insurance results.  HOW much?31 Jul 2007 09:09 GMT16
Back on the 17th I posted about my bike being backed into by a 4x4.  I
knew that it wouldn't be as simple as replacing a can and bar end so I
let Carole Nash's lot take it away for exploratory surgery.
The assessors call this morning was to see how much they could leave
Paging the Essex dwellers31 Jul 2007 08:55 GMT3
Is there anybody that could have a look at a bike in Rayleigh for us?
And, in the unlikely event of us winning the auction: is there anybody
that could collect and store a bike, until we could get darn sarf to
pick it up?

Any Gliders in the House?30 Jul 2007 23:51 GMT56
I've tried flying small Cessna type planes, they were a yawn experience
(1) and small helicopters, they made me slightly nauseous (and poor) but
for some reason I never thought seriously about Gliding, until now. I
guess the need for uplift seemed even more hassle than in ...
Venice, James Bong, and Stolen Buildings30 Jul 2007 22:14 GMT3
Is nothing sacred?
In the opening scene in From Russia With Love (tonight on
KVCMND^H^H^H^H BBC2) a view of the Doges Palace with a building within
a few yards of it to the left (looking inland)
FOAK: Nokia PC Suite30 Jul 2007 21:38 GMT9
My PC in the office doesn't like Nokia PC Suite 6.84 but I didn't find
this out until I'd upgraded it.
Does anyone have 6.7 they could let me have or point me at and
alternative solution?
