VFR750FK 1989 - downpipes - engine out, really?27 Jul 2007 00:36 GMT3
Techy questions again.  It's the viffer - FK model - this time, poor old
thing.  Has anyone had one and replaced the downpipes?  Haynes calmly
states (as only Haynes can) you need to "remove the engine unit from the
frame" to remove/refit the pipes.  They're just about passable, ...
Welder clearout26 Jul 2007 23:06 GMT27
Right, my elderly AC buzz-box arc welder is available free and gratis
to UKRM.
Output cables are getting frayed and the earth clamp's getting a bit
wonky. Duty cycle on full power isn't brilliant; be prepared to take
Complaint26 Jul 2007 20:44 GMT17
Dear Sirs,
Somewhile ago, on the general advice of the posters here, I purchased a
combustion engined cycle for general use.  During the winter months I
polished the painted bits, applied oil to the unpainted bits and tightened
Extreme Enduro racing26 Jul 2007 16:15 GMT10
Caught a program on telly, about the Erzberg Rodeo single day endurance
race.  Not so much a race, as a war of attrition.  1500 riders enter and
just over 20 finish.
Set in Austria on the site of a quarry where they're already ripping the

Anyone near Longhope?26 Jul 2007 09:41 GMT7
I have a week booked there next week. Will I need my snorkel and flippers?
It's this place http://www.the-old-farm.co.uk/
I don't mind a degree of inconvenience but I don't fancy having no
drinking/bathing water on a holiday. If I wanted to rough it I would have
Paging Veggie Dave (or anyone else who knows what they're talking about)26 Jul 2007 09:33 GMT14
So, the KTM950 - any good, then, or what?  They are in my local bike
shop for 10500usd.
Or, should I get an LC4 - they are 7500usd.
(The fact that I have a bike in my garage that I don't use isn't putting

Just saw a dark-blue Pan-Euro filtering up the Cowley Road.  He
was almost past me when I saw him, but the backs of his mirrors seemed
to be tinted blue.  As he passed I saw that the backs of his panniers were
decorated in diagonal red and yellow stripes, and on his hi-vis yellow
Biker Down26 Jul 2007 00:36 GMT24

Unmarked plod and another biker in attendance, all coned off. Biker on

Er500-c1, I doubt the year makes much difference.
Compression fracture to L1 several years ago and considered stable.
Mildly osteoporotic, particularly measured on the neck of the femur.

Bike Decals - How Much?!25 Jul 2007 23:48 GMT14
3 stickers is the wrong side of fifty quid, from my local friendly
kawasaki parts supplier[1]. He's given me some details of a place I
might try to find a better price (which I thought was jolly decent),
but ISTR that someone here was able to do these things?
Paging WUN25 Jul 2007 23:43 GMT10
Are you around this w/e? I'm also wussing out of Chimay (no way I'll
ride there even on something as relatively comfy as the K, thanks to my
knees protesting) so I could theoretically drop by to have a look at the
Voyager. Especially if I could combine this with checking over ...
Painting hero to zero25 Jul 2007 22:55 GMT16
You may recall a couple of weeks ago or so I posted the results of my
first attempt at spraying using proper gear.
I was very pleased with the results and the positive comments I got
really helped too.
