Test advise03 Aug 2007 00:12 GMT26
I am decided I would like to take my test and get on the road with bikes
again. I did have a 125 when I was 17 but never did the test but took the
car 1. Now some 20 years later I wish I had. Can anyone tell me what sort of
tests I will have to take these days. Also will I need ...

I keep being drawn to non-mainstream bikes, would it be really silly to

Fitted the spare (original) front wheel with the Avon Venom onto the
Wing on Saturday morning. Ah, so that's what front end grip feels
like? More on this later.
Set off for Platyfest mid-afternoon, and had a simple run down the M4.

I did a cut-down practise test last night, just for a laugh. Some of
the questions were a bit crap. E.g. "What does a catalytic converter
do?" - wtf has that got to do with being able to ride a bike safely?
The best one though was "When should you check your wheel alignment".

Serious request for legal advice02 Aug 2007 18:44 GMT10
There's a chap in our office, I've written of him before ... has raced
for bloody years, bikes and cars, though gave up the bikes a few years
back.
These days he does a variety, including Radicals, Stealth and GT cars.

FOAK: Reclaiming VAT on exports02 Aug 2007 15:14 GMT4
I know there's at least one Guernseyman on the group. Other non-EU
posters and or tax accountants may know!
How do I go about reclaiming VAT on goods bought privately in the UK for
export to Jersey (non-EU, VAT-free)? Do I need to get a form before

More carrying suggestions...02 Aug 2007 11:43 GMT28
I need to put a tent, sleeping bag and roll mat on the back of the
bike.
Bear in mind, I have twin underseat cans with no heat shielding and
they stick out a little from under the seat.
