What does the FOAK think?
Visorshop wanted £39 for a clear anti-fog visor for my Suomy

Why keep 2 chevrons apart on motorways?31 Jul 2008 20:31 GMT36
You could save paint by halving the number of chevrons and keep one

Where to buy brake caliper parts - need a slide pin31 Jul 2008 12:49 GMT1
Anyone have any idea where I can get a slide pin for the front brake
caliper for a '90 xv535 virago?
A quick search online of the yamaha microfiche shows no part numbers
for the slide pin or the rubber boot - what is that about, all the
f.cking MZ31 Jul 2008 09:18 GMT19
Sold on Ebay, and now it won't start, will it? Not a bloody thing except
for the odd backfire. I didn't know strokers could go bang like that.
Fukkit. I've given the buyer his money back and I'll break it for parts.
Unless sweller wants it for £150?

RBR: Platyfest and beyond. Warning! Includes bits of Wales.30 Jul 2008 21:49 GMT51
Set off Westward around 4pm Saturday.
Made reasonable progress to the M4, and settled into a brisk cruise.
Once through the narrow lanes section, the traffic slowed while the

Satnav speed accuracy30 Jul 2008 21:45 GMT100
I've read here that Sat nav actual speed displayed is very accurate,
so I was surprised to see a large difference in displayed speed to
that of my speedo.  I was given a Garmin Zumo 550, which I've only
stuck in the car at present.  It's a nice bit of kit, well made, but I

Paging the Froggies30 Jul 2008 20:36 GMT4
Can you answer a question about speed limits in la belle France? At
lunch today we were at odds about when the 110kph when wet and 130kph
when dry limits came into being? Also prior to that was it a blanket
120kph limit?

needed since I got a bike with a centre stand
Dead useful for lubing chains, inspecting rear tyres and all that sort
of 'maintaining' stuff I'm supposed to do.

At the risk of tempting fate...30 Jul 2008 18:59 GMT12
I think the GT750 is fixed.
No empirical fuel consumption data yet but I took it out for a 30 mile
run and the fuel gauge didn't move.
I rebuilt the (replacement) carbs with new jets and needles, rebuilt the
MOT/mechanic in Derby?30 Jul 2008 17:49 GMT10
Having moved yet again, I'm on the lookout for a reputable place to
get a service/MOT on the Bandit.  It'll be it's first MOT, and given
the abuse it's had over the past couple of years, it'll likely need
bits doing to scrape through
