Lowers eliminate buffeting!29 Jul 2004 04:51 GMT10
I installed the medium (16 1/4") Yamaha windshield on my V-Star 1100
Classic. The windshield created a narrow tunnel of calm air right
about my head, but I had a strong current on each side wipping about
my ears. That air was coming up from over the gas tank on either side.
Yamaha Fleecing Canadian Customers?28 Jul 2004 14:17 GMT6
It appears that Yamaha dealers in Canada sell accessories at a price
that is much higher than what the American web site for Yamaha
advertises, exchange rate factored in.
Example:

When I turn the ignition switch, start button is not yet pressed,  I get a
whirring sound, what is this whirring?
My front brake squeaks, is this something serious of does the disk need to
be cleaned?  If the later how does one clean the disk?
Yamaha Chrome Lowers28 Jul 2004 03:09 GMT10
There is something I don't understand. When I look at the catalogue
for the chrome lowers, I see four pieces.

Made my VSTAR Louder25 Jul 2004 23:12 GMT29
I've been tired of sneaking up on cats and little old ladies on my 650 for some
time.  Yesterday I ran into three VSTAR 1100 riders and they showed me a trick.
You drill three or four half inch holes just inside the back end of the pipe.
There's a serious slant so ya gotta drill a ...
FZR600R (YZF) Plug Gap25 Jul 2004 20:07 GMT3
Too lazy to but a manual, so can anyone tell me the spark plug gap for a '95
FZR600R.
Also the torque pressure for the cam cover bolts would be appreciated, as
I've just snapped one!
On the subject of V-Star 1100...25 Jul 2004 05:17 GMT1
Two different questions:
First:  which grease (brandname?) would you guys recommend for lubing
the clutch and brake levers?
Second:  I just got back from a trip where I clocked over 2,000 miles
Virago Highway pegs25 Jul 2004 02:39 GMT2
Hi Gang,
I am looking for a set of highway foot pegs for my '96 Virago 1100 (with
factory engine guards). Really haven't seen much except that Whitney has a
set that mounts on the engine guard.
v-star 1100 oil change24 Jul 2004 19:40 GMT6
Changed the oil and filter on my vstar 1100 and after I finished I started
to wonder if it is possible to put the filter in backwards. I put the filter
in with the opening facing outward. Is this correct or is it the only way it
will fit?
saddles24 Jul 2004 16:02 GMT4
Anyone know of a UK based company selling gel pads for motorcycle seats
please?  I'm looking for the external type that can be fastened on top of
the saddle with velcro or cords etc.

V Max range.24 Jul 2004 01:21 GMT16
Fella at work bought a Max a short while back. Tells me its giving an 80
mile range???????? and cuts out when switched to reserve, even before its
dried up. Is this the norm. I'd be a tad pissed it was.
Can you source a bigger tank for them?.
Waving23 Jul 2004 17:37 GMT24
I walk my dogs a lot up and down Million Dollar Rd and make it a habit
to wave at every person that goes by.
I haven't found or can't think of something other than smiling that
has a greater instant impact on oneself.
