I just bought a new 2005 YZF600-R. I want to put a Yoshi Slip-on. I spoke to
the parts guy at Yamaha and he stated that I should not have to rejet since
it is just a slip-on. Can anyone shed some light on this issue.

Hey all, i am just getting into the fun world of motorbikes, and just
got my first bike, a 1980 Yamaha xs400 special.
I know the bike will run, because i have gotten it to run! when i took
it home and changed the battery, turned the starter, and it started

i have been given a 1990 fj1200 cv3 but it wont run right . it will idle ok
(thanks to new ngk plugs gapped to .85mm )but when i ride her for a mile
it will die then wont restart until 10 mins later.then it will go ok for a
mile then die (sometimes with a big backfire !!)etc etc etc ...

   Two years ago I bought a 1979 yamaha125dt. Since then I have put about
$250 into the bike. I removed the baffle. The carb rebuilt, new plugs
(fouling out). I asked a guy that owned a vintage yamha shop out in Ca. but
I live NY. He told me that it was electrial. almost ...

The small battery on the Virago only just seems to be powerful enough to
fire up a 535.  Even when the battery was new (and fully charged) it was not
exactly good and now winter is here it struggles a bit sometimes.
Are there any better quality batteries that anyone knows of ...

Anyone else ever had an online order from these people cancelled because
they wanted a portion of your credit card statement prior to accepting the
order? That apparently is their NEW company policy.  They wanted me to sent

I have read about adding an egcup full of good old Castrol R to a tank of
petrol to get that amazing 50's and 60's racing bike smell.  Has anyone done
this and are there any drawbacks from so doing.

Has anybody fitted heated grips to a 535.  Are they any good.  Can the
charging system/battery cope.  Where can I get some.

I am thinking about buying a very old Yamaha XS 1.1, and I was wondering
how much should I pay for it.
The bike doesn't work for sure,  I plan to restore it in my free time, as a
hobby. The tires look fine, it's a bit rusty.

Does anyone know how much oil the pump on a two stroke engine shut pump,
should it be a dribble or quite a large amount

Still having trouble with the oil light not going out. Oil level is up where
it should be but when I start the engine, the oil light comes on after 30
seconds or so and stays on continuously. Are there any known problems with
this ?

I will be attending a motorcyle mechanic class and hope to find a reasonable
bike  for school. I have a low budget.
