I know the top end for this bike is a bit noisy anyway but

Heya...same issue as before with my '05 XVS 650. USed a bunch of oil on a
easy 1500 mile roadtrip. I noticed somethingelse, but wanted to make sure
before i sh.t the bed.

Can someone out there please explain to me why Yamaha has reverse
threads on the mirror mounts on the right had side?  This seems to me
to be backwards given that the force from the wind acting on the mirror
would tend to want to loosen the mirror.

LC350 & LC250 + YPVS parts, I looked everywhere

Hi, My alternator died and so I dismantled the stator to have a
closer look. The actual windings are fine but where everything has
'smoked'is where the windings were joined to the outgoing wires. The
solder has melted and there is considerable 'black & crispiness' - so

I just came back from a 1300 mile round trip with my XVS650 Star and it used
about 2 qts of oil and quite a bit of gear oil on the trip. I went from
Maine to central PA and then to Rochester NY mostly all highway 70-75 avg
speed.

I have an '86 RIVA 180 XC.It runs good but when I try to start it it wont
start unless I spray soem starting fluid in the carb.What could it be?..Mark
