On Virago 1100 1995. What is the mostly likely place to find the shorting wire?? Might save a few hours tracking if there is a well known weak point. TIA

Yamaha Virago 1100 on 'R' reg. Difficult starter.... now has a terrible clacking sound and the starter does not connect with the drive to start the bike. Happens even though battery is up to charge. Does this mean I need a new starter motor or is there a simple fix?

I appreciate this is a very general question and depends on mode of use but roughly how long would a clutch on an XJ600 be expected to last. I've owned my own since new, it's done 30,000 miles and over the last couple of days gear selection has become quite difficult.
