Does anyone know where I can find a starter rebuild kit for a 1976 650 XS ?

I have an 1985 Virago and both side covers either fell off or someone else
needed them more than I did. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement
set?  Thanks, Dan

On Virago 1100 1995.  What is the mostly likely place to find the
shorting wire?? Might save a few hours tracking if there is a well known
weak point.

rider, looking for an upgrade to my 1976 Goldwing, and ran across a
1999 Venture 1300cc full dresser with 16,000 miles on it.  Took me all
of three days to get this thing off the dealers showroom floor and

I finally thought it might be time to pull the old Yamaha 650 out of the
garage and see if I can get it ready for summer. I had the motor re-built a
couple of years ago and then never finished the project. I pulled the bike
out, charged the battery and fired the thing right up, ...

Yamaha Virago 1100 on 'R' reg.  Difficult starter.... now has a terrible
clacking sound and the starter does not connect with the drive to start
the bike.  Happens even though battery is up to charge.  Does this mean
I need a new starter motor or is there a simple fix?

I appreciate this is a very general question and depends on mode of use
but roughly how long would a clutch on an XJ600 be expected to last.
I've owned my own since new, it's done 30,000 miles and over the last
couple of days gear selection has become quite difficult.

I need some expert help with my `82 Yamaha XS650J Maxim.
Problem:  Won't start when cold.  When you try to start it, at any choke
(bypass) setting, it will fire for one second, and then won't fire again.
If you give it a little starting fluid in the air box, it will start.  Once
